PINK LIPSTICK AND FREESTYLE MUSIC

It's Monday. And it has definitely felt like it. Sometimes, I feel like my life is a total mess. And today, is one of those days. When I feel like this, I try to take comfort in the small things because well, what else can you do in situations like this? I suppose I could give in to the dark hole that does all it can to try to pull me through. And, as tempting as it is to allow myself to get sucked into that deliciously depressing black pit, I know that I will be regretting that move in about a day. And-if any of you out there have ever experienced it, you know that-once you are in, you are in for the long haul. And climbing out of that self imposed doom is definitely no fun.
The dreaded my-life-sucks-so-I-should-walk-into-traffic thoughts have started to pop up and so, here are the two things that I choose to be happy about today:

1. Pink lipstick. I scored the most amazing pink lipstick this weekend at (of all places) the damn grocery store! On top of that it was only $0.98! One point for team Anita. I just got around to actually trying it out today and let me tell you, the lipstick snob in me thought, get real. This is gonna suck! But I am eating those words now. The lipstick is your average drug store brand, but shoot, it looks pretty good (I think) and held up well throughout the day. It even passed the ultimate challenge-lunch. True I had to re-apply, but it still looked fairly decent after I inhaled my chicken and rice.
(The picture below is of me in all my morning glory)

By the way, the above picture was taken in my car, which is now up and running! Hooray! If you have read my previous post, you'll know what this means. Ha! So, that is yet another thing I guess I should be happy about....... Even though I had to part with my precious tiny stash of cash for the repair..... Ok, ok, ok, I will be positive. It's fixed. So yeah...... Next.

2. Now, anyone who knows me is well aware that I am a fan of all types of music. As long as it's good. My musical taste ranges from Metal/Rock (primarily my favorite) to Rap, Techno, R&B, and even includes Classical and Musicals. So when perusing my playlist, I was looking for something to get me outta this funk. And that's when I saw it: Freestyle-Greatest Hits. Yes, yes, and YES! Normally not my go-to, but let me tell you it's working miracles right now. I suddenly feel the urge to tease my hair, throw on some bright pink eyeshadow to match my lipstick, grab an oversized belt and a friend and head to the nearest club! Score another few points for team Anita!
Again, it's the little things right? So, I gotta go now. There is a strobe light and a Zima somewhere calling my name.
